Angus family fonds. 1854-1967.

The fonds consists of four series. The first consists of the papers of Henry Forbes Angus and includes an autobiography, reports, memorabilia and photographs. The second series which pertains to the career of Annie Angus includes reports, speeches, and notes relating to her work in the Vancouver School Board, the Children's Aid Society of Vancouver, and the University of British Columbia. The third series consists of older family papers including original letters to Henry Dunckley who was editor of the Manchester Examiner and Times (1855-1889). This series also includes letters to William Angus, William H. Dunckley, and the diaries of Mary E. Angus. The final series is primarily composed of books and articles by Henry Angus relating chiefly to economics, immigration, and university government.

Henry Forbes Angus (1891-1991) graduated from McGill University in 1911 and the in in 1914 he went to Oxford University. His studies were interrupted by war service but he returned to Oxford after the war and obtained his MA in 1919. In 1919 angus joined the University of British Columbia faculty as an assistant professor of Economics.
